What you'll learn
- Web and software: front-end and back-end development, plus the core programming principles behind building applications that hold up under real use.
- Hardware and maintenance: how computers are built, how to diagnose what's broken, and how to repair, upgrade and maintain systems at a professional level.
- Networking: designing and managing LANs and WANs, and the security practices that keep a network from becoming an open door.
Capstone: the live deployment
Instead of a final exam, teams take on a real problem for a local business — a web app, a network rebuild, a custom tool — and ship it into that business's daily operations.
Students leave with something they built running in production, not just a grade on a transcript.
Good fit for: people who want to write code that does something, engineers who'd rather build the network than just read about it, and anyone who likes taking hardware apart to understand it before putting it back together better.
Electrical Engineering
Electrical work sits at the intersection of old infrastructure and the renewable energy build-out, and this program trains for both.
What you'll learn
- Residential and commercial wiring: reading electrical blueprints, designing circuit layouts, running conduit, and integrating smart-home systems into standard building wiring.
- Solar and renewable systems: installing photovoltaic panels, inverters and battery storage for off-grid and grid-tied setups, plus the maintenance that keeps a solar install performing at full capacity.
- Power grid work: high- and low-voltage distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, and the diagnostic work needed to find a fault before it becomes a fire.
Capstone: grid & green deployment
Students audit a real facility and either install a solar backup system to protect a business from outages, or rewire an older building to modern efficiency standards.
The whole job is managed from load calculations through to final inspection.
Good fit for: people who want to work in renewable energy, people who like precision diagnostic work, and people planning to get licensed and eventually run their own electrical contracting business.
Mechanical Trades
This program covers engines, industrial equipment and metal fabrication — three skill sets that overlap more than people expect on an actual job.
What you'll learn
- Automotive systems: diagnosing and overhauling modern engines, automatic transmissions and electronic powertrain controls, using the same scan tools shops use.
- Industrial equipment: maintaining and repairing light industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics and generator sets, plus the preventative maintenance that avoids expensive surprises.
- Fabrication and welding: reading structural blueprints, cutting and shaping metal, and welding — MIG, TIG and stick — well enough that the joint holds under real load.
Capstone: the industrial overhaul
Teams partner with a local business, farm or workshop, take a piece of failing equipment apart, diagnose what's actually wrong, fabricate replacement parts where needed, and put it back into production.
Good fit for: future automotive technicians, welders and fabricators who like turning raw metal into something structural, and anyone who wants to be the person a factory calls when a line goes down.
Building & Construction
Construction training that covers the trade skills and the business skills, because most contractors fail on the business side, not the build side.
What you'll learn
- Modern building methods: sustainable construction, energy-efficient materials, smart-home integration, and hands-on work with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Masonry and plumbing: brickwork, blockwork, stonework and concrete, plus designing and installing water supply, drainage and venting systems.
- Project management: running a job site, managing crews, staying compliant with safety regulations, and handling budgets, schedules and contracts.
Capstone: community build
In their last semester, students run a real construction project from planning through final inspection, working across masonry, plumbing and site management as if they were a functioning construction company — because for that semester, they are.
Good fit for: people who want to run job sites and eventually run companies, people who want to master a skilled trade that pays well, and people planning to start their own contracting, plumbing or masonry business.
Woodwork & Carpentry
Woodwork here runs from hand-tool joinery to CNC routing to running an actual workshop as a business.
What you'll learn
- Traditional joinery: mortise-and-tenon, dovetails and housing joints, along with structural carpentry: blueprint reading, framing, roofing.
- Furniture making: wood turning, veneering, laminating, finishing, and safe operation of panel saws, thickness planers, spindle moulders and CNC routers.
- Running a workshop: layout and workflow design, timber costing, sourcing, client quoting, and the machinery budgets that determine whether a small shop is profitable.
Capstone: commission and launch
Students operate as a working studio for one client project — an office fit-out, custom cafe furniture, built-in cabinetry — handling the client consultation, the design, the budget, the fabrication and the on-site install.
Good fit for: furniture designers who want to combine craft with business, future contractors who need structural carpentry skills, and anyone planning to open their own workshop.
Sustainable Agriculture
Modern farming is as much about supply chains and climate adaptation as it is about growing things, and this program treats it that way.
What you'll learn
- Climate-smart farming: soil management, crop rotation and organic cultivation, plus drip irrigation, soil sensors and drone crop monitoring.
- Livestock care: nutrition, breeding and health management for regional livestock, along with rotational grazing and housing designs that reduce environmental impact.
- Agribusiness: budgeting, crop insurance, market analysis, food safety regulation, and the storage and transport logistics that keep a farm business running.
Capstone: farm-to-table deployment
Students partner with a local farm, co-op or food business and implement something concrete — a solar irrigation system, a shift to a climate-smart crop layout, better distribution logistics for a co-op — and document the results.
Good fit for: agribusiness entrepreneurs, people interested in climate-adapted farming, and livestock specialists who want to work in animal welfare and production.
